Writing a Rendu in Book Week

This week, Mrs McGeary's writing group has been reading and writing Haiku poetry.  We were inspired by rendu about the months of the year and decided to write one of our own about our school playground at various times during the day.

The sun has just woken up

But kids have been playing

Ready for school

Arriving at school

Ready for class,almost

Talking and playing games

Hustle and bustle

Children doing sport, laughter

Hundreds of pigeons

There is a gas smell

It is an early recess

It will, never end

Joy and glee are alive

Happy kids play and thrive

The bell rings, silence

It's near empty now,

Footsteps, a whisper, a shout

Silence, soon broken

They're back

They run around on my body

I scream, but nobody hears

Children playing sport

ding-a-ling-a-ling-a-ling

Home time finally

Kids hugging parents

Children running to FLASCA

Getting on the bus

The sun still has light,

Energetic FLASCA kids

Having fun outside

Getting dark outside

Kids have gone home without a fuss

not a sound is heard

Cold air blowing in the moonlight

Rubbish trailing behind

There is no one left here
