Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club takes place Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings before school from 8:30am - 8:55am.
The program gives students the opportunity to eat a wholesome, nutritious breakfast on a regular basis. Having breakfast has a positive impact on factors such as physical and mental health, social skills, concentration, behaviour, attendance and academic outcomes.
School staff manage and supervise Breakfast Club each morning, offering breakfast options including toast and cereal. All students are welcome to attend.
The Breakfast Club has four key benefits for students:
Health
· Improves nutrition and eating habits
· Improves mental and physical health
· Helps combat childhood obesity
Learning
· Improves readiness to learn and cognitive function
· Improves educational outcomes
Participation
· Reduces absenteeism and improves punctuality
· Enhances engagement and productivity in the classroom
· Improves concentration and behaviour
Social Development
· Develops social and leadership skills
· Widens social networks and builds friendships
· Builds stronger relationships between students and staff
We would like to thank our sponsors - Living Hope Missions - for helping to make Breakfast Club possible and Ms Shuttleworth for organising.
